This review is from: Canon PowerShot SD890 IS Silver 10 MP 5X Optical Zoom Digital Camera
I have owned other Canon point and shoot (SD1000, SD850) but this 890 was not close. The bright side to this camera is a big LCD, 5x optical zoom. The overall size of camera is small making it handy to carry in pocket.
The first thing that I noticed is the ON/OFF is hard to operate. You have to press the button with your finger nail. If you need to turn the camera in a hurry, good luck ! Another issue is with selection of settings. Prior designs enabled selections by pressing the dial shaped buttons. With the new design this dial now rotates and is harder to use. Overall, I would give this camera a low rating for user friendliness. The pictures were not as good as the 850.
I tried to return this camera and wanted to buy a 780. The 780 has a 3x and is a little more expensive for the rugged body and compactness. Ratings of 780 are better than the 890. This would have cost me another $50 with buying the 780 and returning the 890. Please look at the photos of the camera or the 360 view before buying.
