Very Good processor 06/17/2009

I have the D0 stepping 920 and i was able to hit 4.0GHz at 1.22V. I have some Kingston HyperX 16000 @ 2005MHz. It gives me 29.7MB/s bandwith!! I know i can go higher, but im content....for now.
Heat. And not just the CPUs, but the X58 chipset runs a tad on the hot side. CPU at idle runs at 38C, load runs at 75C. The MB runs between 40 and 45C, sometimes alittle more when gaming for long periods. I use the AXP 140 air cooler and modified Lian Li case with 2X 120mm fans blowing in from the side of the case (hooked up to a fan controller of course).
I had a C0/C1 and it did well, it got to 3.8 but was way too hot for me. The new D0 stepping is still hot, you just dont need the voltage the C0/C1 do so thats where you save temps. If it wasnt so hot it would have gotten a 5. At 4GHz and load being 75C with all silent 120mm fans on fan controllers, it really doesnt get much quieter and more powerful than this.
