Cooler Master COSMOS S RC-1100-KKN1-GP Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case
  • Aluminum ATX Full Tower
  • USB2.0 x 4, IEEE 1394 x 1, Audio x 2, eSATA x 1 Front Ports
  • 7 External 5.25" Drive Bays
  • 4 (Hidden, converted from 3 x 5.25" drive bays) Internal 3.5" Drive Bays

Pros:

I didn't realize how big this thing was!! However, it is excellent for cooling - many places to attach 120mm fans. More room than you will know what to do with, also built in in cable management. Styling is sleek, case is easy to open and has plenty of room for growth. Has Esata on the front panel along with 4 USB ports and firewire. Love this case.

Cons:

Furniture sized case - it could suffice as an end table, no joke. Has a shock-mounted hard drive enclosure which sits inside 3 of the 5.25" bays - very difficult to remove. Open the metal "shutters" on the front, take out the blank plates/grates, unlock the retaining clip and push that thing right out. Takes a significant amount of force.

There is a spot to mount a 120mm fan on the bottom of the case; the vibration will transfer directly to the case if you don't put a gasket or rubber ring of some kind there underneath the fan (VERY loud) and the screws are very difficult to reach from the bottom of the case due to the contour of plastic molding on the bottom. Not impossible, just annoying.

Overall Review:

Watch out for the 200mm fan on the side! The fan protrudes so far into the case that my Dark Knight CPU heat sink bumped into it. I had to remove the fan from the side panel, take off the snazzy looking "Cosmos S" grill and mount the fan to the outside of the case. Aesthetic sacrifice for function. I would advise that you double check your CPU cooler and make sure that it fits between the 200 mm fan and the motherboard.
