This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
3 way SLI or Crossfire, USB 3.0, Sata 6GB/s 2 PCI Express 1x slots, 1 PCI slot and for around 200 bucks it's a awesome buy. supports 24 gigs of ram up to speeds of DDR3 2200, Core i7 1366. I have researched motherboards intensively and most boards with these features average 300 to 400 bucks. You can't get anymore name brand than gigabyte and my personal experience with gigabyte boards is they rock!! Overall the placement of everything on this board is awesome if your only running newer hardware like me. The 2 PCI Express 1 x slots on some other boards are mounted below the 16x video card slots and in SLI it can block them. Gigabyte did this board right and put 2 up top above them so your video cards wouldn't interfere with them at all
If you were running SLI the PCI slot would be blocked by the newer 2 slot video cards. This is not a big deal for me because I bought a PCI Express 1x sound card so I won't ever use it anyways. However, for some who plan on using SLI and a PCI card it would pose a problem. Also if you were to do 3 way SLI the plug where your floppy drive goes would be blocked, but that's not really a con because no one uses that ancient stuff anymore now that we have flash drives.
SLI 2 way is 16x by 16x, but if you use 3 way SLI its 16x by 8x by 8x. However, true 16x 3 way SLI is only on like 1 or 2 boards so far and they are 400 bucks. I only plan on running 2 cards so not a big deal to me. Eventually I will run 2 GTX 380's when they are released.
