- 2 RJ-11 FXS phone ports - for analog circuit telephone device (tip/ring)
- Internet Phone Adapter
Works great with Asterisk 11/08/2010
This review is from: Cisco Small Business PAP2T-NA Internet Phone Adapter with 2 VoIP Ports
Pros:
Very feature rich. Easy basic setup to use as an extension on Asterisk. Can set it up with 2 lines and 2 extensions on Asterisk. Studdering dial tone indicates new mail on Asterisk server.
Cons:
Built-in feature codes conflict with Asterisk feature codes such as *67 to clock callerID. If you use the built-in *67 feature code, it just blocks the callerID sent to Asterisk. When a call is made using *67, Asterisk never sees the *67 feature code and sends the callerID out. You have to disable the built-in feature code and have it pass *67 to Asterisk in order to block outgoing callerID.
Overall Review:
If you just need a simple ATA to use analog phones with a PBX then this device is perfect for you. Registering it directly to your Voip provider can be a bit more complicated.
