Pros:

Deserves 5+ stars, most down rating was for stupid reasons. I have been buying video cards for over 20 years; Gigabyte has finally done it right! This card is the best bang for the buck on the market, kills the 465 and runs allmost as fast as a 480.
Don't just take my word, check out the glowing writeups at Guru3D and Tomshardware. MaximumPC gave the regular Gigabyte 470 a 9/10 "Kick A**" rating, and this card is far superrior. People who know what they are talking about love this card. It is powerfully fast, cheap, and runs cool and silent.
1. Check out the rear view of the card and compare it to the caos of all other 470 and 480 cards. The PCB is unique and well designed for OC and running cool.

2. Its unbelievable, the 3 fans really are silent untill they hit 80%, and even then they are very quiet. When I first saw the layout I did not like it, figuring it would vent heat into the case. But no, case fans solve what little does. Continued in "Other Thoughts"

Cons:

NONE, except the software, which is not the card!! Get Afterburner, with its clean layout and nice graphs, and you will be in fat city. (It has auto switching between 2D and 3D. User define your fan for 100% at 80 degrees.) Not because MSI makes Afterburne, but because the Guru3D guys help make it based on their own premier OC and video utility of many years. (See write up at Guru3D.) Grab Nvidia's latest drivers (choose custom and you can even do a clean install now- sweet.)
Note: I use this on 2 systems, switching HD boot order in the BIOS between Win Xp and Win 7 64 Ultra. ON XP I installed Gigabyte's SW and drivers. The GPU lights on the card read correctly, even after changing to Nvidia's latest drivers. On Win 7 I just used Nvidia's latest and Afterburner. All the lights stay on, BUT it doesn't matter, Afterburner shows the accurate Stats for everything, and the lights look cool anyway.
OH yea, 1 more con -- the free game, M II, sell it.

Other Thoughts:

3. This card is made with such good components, it comes OCed to 480 speed, but you can take it higher. In dishonor of the new $$$GTX 580 card I clock mine at 770 - 1540 - 1720 range.

The 470 is the most economical, powerful card available, and destined for big sales. Much better than a 465. Why? Go to Nvidia, do a side by side comparison. Notice the 3 to 1 difference in the gap between the 465 to 470 as compared to the 470 to 480. For example: Cuda cores: a difference of 96 between 465 and 470, but only 32 between the 470 and 480. This variation is consistent, check it out. It is stupid to go with a 465 when the price is so close, but the price gap is much bigger with the 480, and this Gigabyte performs like a 480 to boot!!
I bought other quality brands for years now, but I feel let down. Only Gigabyte had the guts to redesign this card, and they deserve to be rewarded.
PS. I am not employed by Gigabyte or Guru 3D, and I love Newegg - I shop here first.
