Micro Center Vs. C300 Direct Comparision 12/05/2010
Fast So far - See Other thoughts
For my first PC build in 20+ years (last was an 80486 :) I got everything from NewEgg except a hard drive. To build it this weekend I was forced to go to a local chain store to get a respected $99 /64G house brand SATA 2 SSD.
After assembling the new rig (I7-950:) I did a fresh Win 7 / 64 install then patched / tweaked everything to SSD standards. Life was good
After doing some more reading and really wanting a SATA 3 drive I decided to try the C300 today.
Before I swapped the SSD's I did some benchmarking (results below) and yes it blows away the HOT Sanforce controller in the house brand drive in all but the critical 4k tests.
So far So good. SATA 3 rocks. NewEgg Rocks.
I may have misread another users comment and thought drive clone and cables were included with the C300/64 GB but i think i was wrong and those only come with the 256 SSD.
I used the free Snapshot Disk Imaging software to clone the drive with little issues.
