Follow-up to my own earlier review 12/17/2010
It was great when it worked
In addition to the power failure I mentioned before, the tech support at HANNS-G is terrible. After having me hold the power button for 3 minutes at a time for a while, he took down my e-mail address and phone and said he'd have warranty get in touch with me. I asked him to read back both and he had transcribed both incorrectly, despite my spelling my address out as "Max - as in Mike Alpha X-ray at " and asking him to read it back.
Then today I got the call from warranty, in her message she said to call back at 1-888-(four numbers), three numbers too few to be useful. When I chased down the number to call back, the front line support guy said that warranty closes at 3:00 Pacific time and I'll have to wait till monday to try again.
I'm not in so much of a hurry that waiting until Monday will kill me, but even with this new front line tech guy, I had no confidence that this guy was going to get the corrected e-mail address right.
I STRONGLY recommend that you go with another brand of monitor; the other two brands I got around the same time have been solid and the third brand that I got three years ago needed a backlight replaced, which they did as a warranty repair.
In this day and age service makes up for a lot, and Hanns-G apparently doesn't offer it.
