5 out of 5 eggs Password is not blank its admin 03/21/2011

This review is from: TRENDnet Wireless N 450 Mbps 18 dBm, WDS and Repeater, TEW-690AP

Pros:

Easy to connect, software works great, easy to configure. (Minus one problem) Good range with a strong signal. Replacing a D-Link DIR-655v1 with Netgear ProSafe FVS336G VPN (For dual WAN) and 2 TEW-690AP. DIR-655 would not cover the whole house but that was not the DIR-655 fault. Really long house (135') and the builder put foil lined insulation in all the walls of the house including the interior walls.

Cons:

Ok for the Minus one problem, using the software wizard it says just hit connect as there is no password. That is wrong, you hit connect and it comes back cannot connect. They need to change the wizard. In the manual on the CD it is correct in that the default password is admin. So with the setup wizard use the password admin. Ok there is one other I see but not a big one. The setup is a 2 part. The first gets wireless online and basic configures. I think newbies would stop at that point as the router is working. You then have to remember or look at the saved file sheet for the routers new address and login to configure password and wireless security. I think they should do it as one step but that’s just me. Not taking an egg off for that.
