Great paper weight.
Bought this off Woot for $40 less. Been waiting for a quad core at a good price. I have an HP dual core laptop thats been here 4 years without a single hiccup. So I sprung on it. So far it's been a terrible decision.
1st computer had no video out of the box. couldn't tell it it was booting or not. Spent 2 hours on the phone with HP to come to the conclusion that it needs to be sent back for repairs. good job HP. Took a week and a half from the time i sent it to the time i received it. I figured they would replace the motherboard because it has integrated video which is OBVIOUSLY not working, and because they said that's what they would do. NO. They updated the bios and reseated the processor.
2nd computer (same computer) started to boot. Dialog says windows failed to boot. enter recovery mode. FROZEN. OK wait 10 minutes, still frozen. Shut down, reboot. NO VIDEO. Spent another hour on the phone with HP ripping some poor guy apart. Waiting on the return box.
... I third that HP quality control is awful, how do you let computers leave repair shops that are not working. Do they even test these computer at all?? I can understand receiving a computer that does not function properly. Things like that happen. A problem has been identified and should be repaired the first time out. But to get the same computer back that is STILL not working?? Now I'm out a computer for another week and a half. I couldn't say no to the deal. The parts alone in the machine was worth the money. If I get it back I'll probably end up gutting it and buying a new MB and case and build my own from now on. Save yourself the headache of dealing with horrible customer service, and horrible QC. Just build your own if you have the skills, or buy new. I've learned the hard way, don't make the same mistake.
