This review is from: EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card 512-P3-N801-AR
Pros:
I found some vids online about how to "bake" these cards in order to reflow the solder. This worked and now both cards are working and I am up and running in SLI mode again. So if anyone else is caught in the same bind as I was (dead cards and no warranty), this may be an option to try before junking the cards and replacing them.
Cons:
Requires some expertise in power electronics heatsink assembly and dis-assembly.
Overall Review:
Also upgraded the card BIOS to fix the fan issue. GPU runs cooler and games run at higher FPS than before the bake and rebuild.
