Not bad for the price 09/01/2011
For the price it's a decent computer (6G of RAM :) ). My first AMD chip and I'm not disappointed. Very quite out of the box. The power supply is more than enough for the video card (nice surprise).
The perforated (holes) side provides a handy mount for additional fans (although I can only get 2 of the 4 screws lined up).
My video card runs hot. Internet searching turns up many cases of this particular card running hot. Installed an additional 120mm fan on the side case to help cool it down. Also installed MSI afterburner to adjust the gpu fan (speed fan couldn't find it). Card still runs a little on the hot side, but not as bad as it did.
The power button placement is absurd and quite sensitive. The upper ports/jacks (usb, mic, headphones) are worthless if you don't have the clearance for them.
No front jacks or ports.
Opening the dvd drive is a bit unorthodox. There is no "button" to push, instead you have to press the slide switch down. Gets a little annoying if you have to swap out discs frequently.
I've had this computer for 4 months now. It runs the older games I play (BF2 Civ 4 UT2004 Rappelz StarCraft (1) ) quite well. Don't have any of the newer games to try out (yet).
The storage area up top doesn't need to be there. In lieu of the storage space, they should have put exhaust fans, or the mounting to place one or two.
I'd give this machine 3.5 stars, but can't so I went with 4.
