Got it, so far so perfect 10/23/2011
Fast, performs almost as fast as advertised on the specs. I get about 470MBs P/S sustained on this drive.
No crashes, no halts and this add's at least another year on my PC's longevit before I need to do a refresh.
Price, for the price you could probably get two of the lower end drives of the same capacity, but if you read the reviews from people who own them, very few have anything good to say about it. So you get you what you pay for.
I bought this drive because I needed to run a VMWare image along with my host OS and both at decent utilization levels. On spinning disk both systems where sputtering along, but was annoying as I would get periodic unresponsiveness on my system. Checked and CPU and Mem where not the issue but it was an IO issue. Upgraded to this and have them both running now perfectly with no other upgrade.
In retrospect I could have rolled the dice with a cheaper 256GB SSD, but my time is valuable to me and this is one of those cases where you get what you paid for.
Lastly, this drive supports a relatively new feature called load leveling where it redirects writes that call for the same "physical address" to new cells. This prevents unnecessary wear on overly active files like the swap file and ensures even wear across the cells. Huge feature IMO.
Running Win 7 x64 on both host and guest.
