Good monitor 11/09/2011
all the usual,
no dead pix
works 100% reliably with DVI input, for those who have scaling problems, ditch the VGA.
viewing angle is much better than some seem to be indicating, i have this monitor right next to an ASUS VH242H (not LED backlit), one of the highest rated monitors on newegg, and this thing eats is lunch. The virtical viewing angle is of far more homogeneous quality than the VH242H.
the lack of a microphone did confuse me a bit at first, but i have a $15 headset microphone siting on the desk next to it and that works just fine.
the lack of good instructions makes it a bit hard to calibrate this monitor. the color looks great, but sometimes is not very accurate. i was drawing some color coded diagrams and dragged them over to a word document on my older VH242H, and the reds suddenly looked alot more pink, and the blues lightened up a solid amount. Not nearly anoying enough to make me redo my diagrams, but brought attention to the difference between the contrast/saturation of each monitor.
the 2 megapixel webcam works great with the software provided. some low end webcams have a huge studdering problems, this one works great.
