This review is from: Hanns·G HZ251HPB Black 25" 2ms X-Celerate OD 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 X-Contrast 15,000:1 DCR (800:1 typical) Built-in Speakers
Pros:
I purchased two of these with my 2010 christmas bonus. They've served me very adequately in a dual monitor setup. I'm not a visual aficionado, but the colors look nice, and I've never had any problems with video or anything. Considering the price, I've been extremely pleased with their performance over the last year.
Cons:
Two cons, one minor, one major enough to drop the review from 5 stars down to 3.
First, as a minor critique, the monitors become very dark when viewed from a high or low angle. I know this is commonplace with LCD monitors, but it seems particularly pronounced on these monitors. However, these are the first LCD monitors I've actually owned, so I could simply be unaware of what is typical.
My major complaint is that one of my monitors is starting to have serious display issues after only a year. In the top right hand corner there is a dark red spot which seems to be growing in size. It's only about a centimeter of dark color radiating from the corner at the moment, but it's not going away. I've noticed one other small spot which seems to be doing this as well, along the top edge.
Additionally, the top center of the monitor seems to have developed a massive cluster of dead pixels, but only when viewed from certain angles or on certain colors. Sometimes blue, sometimes yellow.
Overall Review:
I have not yet contacted customer support to see if the warranty will cover this. I need to find my warranty first, but I only have 2-3 weeks left. If I'm particularly impressed or disappointed with their service on this, I will report back.
