crippled OpenGL and CUDA 01/09/2012
This review is from: EVGA 03G-P3-1595-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Classified ULTRA 3072MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Pros:
3GB VRAM
Cons:
DO NOT BUY, nVidia cripped OpenGL and CUDA peformance in cards > GeForce 200.
A GTX-285 will run ~ 4x faster
just google "580 OpenGL crippled"
Manufacturer Response:
Hello,
I can assure you that the 580 will outperform a 285 in any 3d benchmark or game you test with in addition to offering DX11 support. If you are looking for a non-gaming card designed for rendering Nvidia also offers quadro cards.
