- SATA III
Fast, fast, fast... Did I forget to mention this drive is fast! Nice package, external case with cable, extra screw driver, internal mounting kit, and it even looks awesome.
The software on the CD would not boot or operate as intended. It wouldn't recognize the hard drive and 2 out of every 3 boot ups would not recognize my KB or M.
I did not configure the AHCI settings in the BIOS to start and this might have been the reason (see Other Thoughts:)
I wanted to do a clean installation so booting from the provided CD was not that big an issue but I wanted to test the provided documentation and software for imaging. I probalby should have changed the BIOS configs first before starting.
This drive is fast. I installed Windows 7 64bit, created a new partition and loaded everything up. Once everything was running and updates applied, I put the system on AHCI via Windows & BIOS, rebooted and BAMM! The drive scores a 7.9 on Win Index.
Purchased from NewEgg.com with $60 MIB, drive toal was $155 for 120GB's & worth every penny. After much use it has been 100% Gold.
If you plan to purchase, please do your home work!
