This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 (CWCH60) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Smaller than a tower heat-pipe cooler and cools about as well.
Pump makes a humming noise far louder than anything else in my case. The mechanism for mounting and securing the water block to the motherboard is less than stellar.
I RMA'd my first one because of the humming noise. To Corsair's credit, the RMA process was painless and the replacement arrived the same week.
The second one makes the same noise. The noise is a constant hum, not the gurgling of air in the pump. It's quiet when I'm holding the pump in my hand, but when mounted it transfers the vibrations to the case and it's clearly audible.
It doesn't have to be installed to hear it - just attaching one corner of the pump to a drive bay is enough to turn a case into a sounding board. These are good quiet cases, a NZXT H2 and a Fractal R3. A Hyper 212+ cools about as well and is far quieter.
A better mounting system might help isolate the vibration. I'm going to try to rig something up. As it is, I can't use this.
Those who have several case fans at 2000+ RPM probably won't notice the noise. It sounds similar to the noise of a cheap fan mounted directly to the case.
