Poor performance in WoW 03/27/2012
Good price, good specs, well rated on PassMark charts.
I installed this card on my wife's WinVista desktop, with a 760w power supply, dual core Intel and maxed RAM at 4 GB. Installation went fine, but we keep getting flakey video in WoW. I have since re-loaded the entire system, including the OS and WoW, but continue to get stuttering, missing textures and flashing screens, even when the video settings are down on fair. We had better performance with the old video card, a GT 240.
Seems to run other games fine. WoW is a more CPU intensive game, but that doesn't explan why it ran better on a much older card.
I do apologize for any confusion. Due to the age of your platform the card will be bottlenecked by the CPU and amount of memory you have. WoW is mostly a CPU intensive game, if you open performance monitor you will see your CPU and/or ram being maxed out during these dips. For full performance from the card you will need to add ram, over clock your CPU, and or upgrade the entire system.
