2 out of 5 eggs Solid Board, Died after a couple weeks 06/08/2012

This review is from: ASUS P8H61-I (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

Pros:

Great Bios, energy efficient, nice gpu boost feature. I used this board to run a mini itx server for my web site and it worked perfectly fine for about 3 weeks until on about the 3rd day of the 4th week, where when I tried to turn my computer on, it wouldn't turn on. I ran a couple of tests on the other components: ram, cpu, cpu heatsink, psu, and all worked perfectly fine on another motherboard. I even tried plugging the front panel switches from a case into another mobo and everything worked fine, so this leaves the motherboard at fault. As a final test, I tried removing all of the components from the motherboard and putting everything back together.

Core i3 2100 LGA 1155 3.1GHz Processor
ASUS P8H61-I (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel H61 HDMI USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
SILVERSTONE NT07-1156 90mm CPU Cooler
Silverstone SG05 itx case w/ 450w psu

Cons:

Won't allow the computer to start up. Pushing the on/off button does nothing. The motherboard LED is on when I turn the PSU I/O switch on but the computer won't turn on from the power switch of the screwdriver test.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with motherboard.

Can you try clearing CMOS? Turn off the computer. Turn the switch on the back of the power supply to OFF. On the lower right corner of the motherboard is a jumper marked "CLRTC", move the jumper from positions 1 and 2 to 2 and 3. Wait about 30 seconds, and move the jumper back to positions 1 and 2. Power on the computer.

Please call motherboard support at 1-812-282-2787 to begin the RMA process or use our online case support at http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_techserv.aspx

Regards,
Benson
