4 out of 5 eggs Received Used board, paid for new 06/20/2012

This review is from: ASRock Fatal1ty X79 Professional LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros:

Board almost perfect in functionality. Two issues physicly or operationaly with the board noted thus far.
1) Strange power surge when board is powered on. Seems as if board is pulling an unusual amount of current when initialy powered on. (Using Corsair AX1200 PSU) I have over 7 other boards and none of the others exibit this behavior. Including Asrock P67 & Z68, slew of other Asus boards including X79 Rampage, X77 Gene V etc.
2) Will get strang artifacting in the graphical interface during boot up. Occures no matter what video card I use, GTX 590/GTX 570, new 680 GPU amd GTX 550 Ti (great GPU BTW for the money)

Cons:

Board arrived in used condition even though purchased as new. (This is not the first I have heard of this occurring of late) There was evidence of thermal compound on the CPU armature and finger prints all over indicating it was handled and used previously. (Just wait, NewEgg will say thats BC they tested it first.. UM no )
I was one of the ones stuck with one of the Rampage boards now known to have pin issues; however, NewEgg would not accept exchange or refund and blamed me for the pin damage. Since then become aware of problems with same. Still stuck with almost $500 board from NewEgg BC they failed to honer their own warranty and exchange policy. So receiving a used board as of late, I have serious doubts I will continue recommending NewEgg any longer and will look elsewhere for any further purchases before choosing to come here where they are obviously resting on some laurels. The problem with that is if you sit to long, u get a thorn in your but. ; )

Other Thoughts:

Really hope the start up issue is not a problem defect on its way to becoming a dead board. I dread having to deal with NewEgg after my last experience and really tired of manufacturers using the RMA process instead of good quality control. To manipulate the customer in such ways does get noticed and will effect customer loyalty in the end.
