Entry level price, Entry level monitor 08/24/2012
-Thin design will make it nice to wall-mount
-Uses standard power cord
-LED backlit means the screen stays cool
-OSD is intuitive and easy to use, but limited (see below)
-DVI and VGA cables provided
-TN Type panel, as with all screens in this price range, have gross color gradients
-Either the Panel on this screen is really bad or the Anti-Glare coating is over-done. Text is more fuzzy than the VH238H I already have.
-Stand is sturdy, holds the monitor still. If you shake the desk though, the monitor stand does recoil A LOT. If you have a flimsy desk, you need a sturdy stand. This is not a sturdy stand. I happen to have a solid desk but I noticed when moving my desk with these screens on it, the VS238H (compared to my VH series) would wobble like crazy. They stay put though.
-No built in cable organizer. Minor point but I like having one on my main screen. Neither of these were main screens though so I didn't care much.
-OSD doesn't have very good 'tweakability' in certain modes
It was cheap and it came with a rebate. It was one of the cheapest TN based 1080p screens that were bigger than 22" (I wanted something to match the 23" I already had)
I bought two of these to pair up with a VH238H and I have some mixed feelings about this. The Antiglare on this panel is over-done and impedes text readability to me.
Moving stuff around on desktop composition is also a tad fuzzy leading me to believe there might be some interpolation going on, but this could be my graphics card failing to handle 3 monitors correctly. I'm also using cheap adapters soooo yeah. grain of salt there.
Considering that this is one of the cheapest 23" 1080P screens available, I would say this is a great buy. It is not the highest quality, but ASUS backs their products like a champ. One of two screens came with a single dead pixel. by ISO standards, this is not enough to warrant a replacement of any kind, and to be honest, anyone who buys this monitor should not complain about it.
