- 1/3" Sony Super HAD CCD II

Not a bad CCD camera for the price 10/25/2012
This review is from: Vonnic VCD505W2 480 TV Lines MAX Resolution Outdoor Night Vision Dome Camera - White
This is a pretty good ccd camera in this price range.
480 TVL isn't the best out there but it isn't the worst either.
If you want GREAT detail look for 700 TVL cameras.
The colors are good with this camera. Night viewing is very good for this product. If there is one thing I have learned about night viewing and infared, the important number is the LUX on number.
LUX ON: 1.0 No Good
LUX ON: 0.5 Good
LUX ON: 0.03 Excellent
The lesser the number the better the video picture.
It is taking less light to function.
The IRIS is larger and gathers more light from low light conditions.
This camera is not nearly as good as my
Vitek CCTV VT-PIRC2/H Color PIR Camera with Working Motion Detection, 600 TVL, 3.8mm are.
The 600 TVL makes a big difference in detail all other specs being equal.
Although you get what you pay for.
STAY AWAY FROM MACE CAMERAS, they are not a good camera at all.
If you want a better camera than this Vonnic without getting into the professional (expensive) stuff, take a look at VITEK cameras.
They make excellent cameras, their support is nothing short of phenominal and their pricing is good. They are based in the U.S. and they are staffed by American people that speak ENGLISH.
That to me is a positive that really means a lot.
