Great game hindered by modern gamers. 11/01/2012
This review is from: Medal of Honor: Warfighter Limited Edition PC Game
Like has been already said, do not expect BF3 or CoD action in MoH. Because that's not the type of game it is, nor is it the type of game that it tries to be (which also is a con, see Cons). Multiplayer is very tight and team oriented. If you play as a lone wolf, you will not be successful. It hinges on working as a fireteam and as a squad overall.
Weapon customization, models, sounds, recoil, and damages are all very realistic; it is very clear that the MoH team worked tightly with the soldiers that helped provide information for the game.
The campaign is also very well done, focusing more on the soldiers and stresses that they face instead of giant setpiece moments.
The only real cons about this game are that it appeals to only a very select type of gamer. Most modern FPS players seem to have been spoiled by the instant satisfaction of CoD style shooters. Being able to run around by yourself and carry a team. Which just doesn't cut it in Warfigher. As a result, people are giving it negative reviews. "Oh no, I have to actually play as a team player? Screw this." Basically what I'm saying is, give the game a chance. You might actually like the change of pace (actually having to think your way through a match).
The VoIP can also sometimes be a bit buggy, and matchmaking can sometimes be a pain (but that's a general Origin problem). However I've never joined a match with a friend and gotten separated from them a la BF3.
It's refreshing to see a game actually built around tactical gameplay, especially in a world dominated by twitch shooters like CoD, Battlefield, and Halo where you can run around like a chicken without a head. If it's not your thing, then it's not your thing. But I would at least give it a chance.
