It's faster than my old Linksys router.
If I weren't tech savvy, I'd not have any use out of this garbage.
DNS Relay doesn't work (well, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't). Turning it off (figured this one out the first week) is required for some web sites to just randomly stop being found.
The internal HD stopped being recognized about 2 months into ownership. Sometimes I can still access it (though the device says there isn't any internal HD) and sometimes I can't.
The provided backup software is stupidly slow. Copying via Explorer works much better.
Overall, this device has no redeeming qualities.
It's a shame, too, because WD used to be a name I can trust. But this device is really bad. Just plain bad. I've updated the firmware regularly and stayed current. The only thing I haven't done is factory reset and/or reformat of the hard drive. Those come next, though I'm concerned I'll be left with no router at all.
It's such a good idea -- router and NAS. Alas, WD failed to deliver on it.
