The card takes a high overclock! So high Zotac is trying to kill it with their bios!
The bios is buggy and the software engineers at Zotac have little clue what they are doing. Card comes with default 1150 volt, which actually hurts performance....giving same results as if it were clocked at 900mhz. Artifacts...Pixel and texture loads....and it hits temps near 90c on a 5 fan well ventilated case.
10 months ago I purchased this card. After a month of tinker testing found that a voltage of 1087 shows a 5% increase in performance over zotac default. Of course altering voltage settings voids warranties. Now I would have never had to do this if Zotac supported there product and released a bios update.
Last march there were promises of a bios release to fix these issues but, if you visit their forum page it becomes quite clear they have written off the customers of the 500 series cards. Please do not buy this card unless you want to waste your time void warranties and ultimately watch the card die slowly before a year is up. I personaly will never buy ZOTAC again.
