This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros:

Sli and Crossfire compatiable

Cons:

I purchased this board with an i7 2600k processor 6 months ago. I noticed a couple weeks ago that the system would not start up properly after a shut down done through windows. I got around this by pulling the power cable and holding the power button for 30 seconds. Didn't bother me cause the system would run like it always did.

2 days ago I attempted to power my system on from sleep mode and nothing happened. After a couple attempts the system powers up and begins restarting after the splash screen! I am only able to press tab to see that the bios is an older version than what I use before this started happening. I believe in stable computing so I never OC'd anything!

I do some research and find a forum with over 79 pages of people complaining about different gigabyte products doing the same power cycling as my setup. This is my 4th build and first using gigabyte. I will never buy another gigabyte product and I RECCOMMEND THAT YOU AVOID gigabyte boards at all costs.

Overall Review:

I regret buying this junk. I had an Asus P5N-D that I tried every kind of overclock with and everytime it failed you know what happened? The board worked and powered as it should. I did NOT attempt any overclocking with this one cause I felt it had the sufficient power and speed. It does, just not the reliablity or dependability as I cannot even put this thing into sleep mode without it failing.

Judging from the other one eggers I was lucky enough to get 6 months out of this thing. BUYER BEWARE!

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

From your problem description of your BiOS beging older than previous- your main system BiOS may have been corrupt for various reasons such as a virus attack, failed BIOS update, or a lightening storm/power surge, and the Gigabyte DualBIOS worked correctly to restore your main system BiOS from the seconday backup BiOS. Just download the latest BiOS version F10, and update your motherboard BiOS to solve this problem.
