2012 Support Fixed 12/18/2012
This review is from: ASUS P8B-E/4L ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1155 Intel C204 DDR3 ECC UDIMM
Good board after 2012 support has been fixed; it would be 5 eggs if the manuf. hadn't been caught with their pants down on a release so widely publicized. Using with 32GB of this ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820239116 and no problems. IPMI "fat" application is flaky, but the web daemon is better anyhow. Works well with an IBM 5014 (LSI 9260) controller. Onboard NIC performance is stellar, and having a dedicated IPMI port is a welcome change from older boards from other manufacturers.
Sometimes when I'm sleeping I think the motherboard is watching me. Is that weird?
I'm still concerned about Asus' dedication to the server market and wouldn't deploy in production until they prove that they'll lead the way, but this is now a step in the right direction.
