Good hd but overkill 02/20/2013
This is a great hard drive with plenty of room if we could only access all of it I had to deduct 2 eggs (See cons)
I bought this hard drive as a secondary or well actually a 3rd addition to my new build's hard drive system. However, when I installed it and turned my pc on my system was only recognizing 800 gb's of the total 3 terabyte capacity. Well come to find out Microsoft operating systems wont recognize more then 2.2 terabytes in a single hard drive partition now this could be my fault for not researching but you think that kind of information would be announced by both Microsoft as well as developers of large capacity hard drives. I had to use the disc wizard and form 2 partitions one partition with 2 terabytes and a 2nd partition for the remaining 1 terabyte so now my computer thinks I have an extra hard drive and on top of that I had to allocate the space on the second partition.
Unless you absolutely need 3 terabytes Id recommend a 2 terabyte hard drive its still plenty of space.
Maybe Microsoft and creators of large capacity hard drives should list a warning and a how to fix section with instructions about how to make windows OS systems recognize entire large capacity drives in one partition.
