it works. it's a laptop. the memory even passes a stress test.
screen is scratched and smudged. Also there is an indentation where the brightness and polarization is different, probably from damage such as from someone striking the screen or from attempting to close the screen with a pen stuck between the screen and the keyboard.
everyone expects scratches and dents on the plastic case of the laptop, and this laptop sure is ugly, with paint coming off the large speaker covers. That's not a big deal, I signed up for scratch and dent and I don't mind it. It would just be nice if they told you that when they said 'scratch and dent' they were referring to the most important part of the laptop - the screen surface.
scratch and dent implies a laptop that is cosmetically ugly but still fully functional. This is not a fully functional laptop. having multiple scratches, dents, and smudges in a screen significantly detracts from the useability of the laptop. My advise is to only buy the most inexpensive of refurb laptops from this vendor. If you spend much more than a hundred bucks for a laptop with a horrible screen, you'll hate yourself and you'll hate the vendor.
How does this vendor decide if the screen is good enough to pass off to the customer? I guess they get someone with poor eyesight to stand about two yards back, and if they can't see any scratches or smudges in the screen, then it's good.
