Board Dead less than 3 Months 04/17/2013
This review is from: ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Decent price; easy to install; That's about it.
Motherboard died after just under 3 months of moderate use. Took 4 chat sessions, 2 phone calls, and half a day to finally get agreement from ASUS to cros-ship a replacement board. Still waiting after 1 week for replacement to arrive. Called Asus totay and was told that there is no one who can tell me if a replacement has even shipped, yet. However, a replacement usually ships within 48 hours of cross-ship credit card verification. Earlier I was told that such verification takes 48 hours. That was after waiting 24 hours to receive the initial email with the RMA form which had to be FAXED in to ASUS. Really??? FAX it in???
After each of my 7 chat sessions with ASUS (yes, 7 because the sessions timed out while the tech was "distracted" - his explanation not my word - or looking something up), I was presented with a short survey concerning my opinion of the session. The survey ended by asking if I would recommend ASUS to a friend. My answer: I won't recommend ASUS to my worst enemy, let alone a friend.
Thank goodness this board was for personal use and not for a client. I'd be fired if a client had to wait a couple of weeks for a replacement motherboard.
My recommendation - AVOID ANYTHING FROM ASUS - unless you can live without the item for at least 2 weeks (cross-ship) or 3-4 weeks normal warranty repair. If that waiting period length and poor quality control is fine with you, then Asus might be OK for you. Prices are a little less than some competitors.
Dear Valued Customer,
Sorry to hear that the xship process is taking awhile. Once you see that the charges have been made to your credit card then the 48 hours excluding weekends will take effect.
Please provide me with your RMA number and serial number so I can check the status for you.
If you have any questions or comments you can email me again at firstname.lastname@example.org which I reside in the U.S
ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.
