Works okay 07/16/2013
It works. Fairly easy to set up. Cables were long enough for my needs.
Needs an occasional reboot
This is the first router I've owned, and to date I still don't understand or know much about the settings or much of anything else, but after 3 months of use it is still working fine. About once every 7-10 days it drops connection to the Internet, indicated by either no light or a solid light under "SYS", when it should be blinking if everything's normal. For this, I deduct an egg. Easily fixed with a reboot. I suppose changing a setting would fix this issue, but don't know what that would be since my tech knowledge of routers is so limited.
When I first hooked it up I had no Internet connection on the PC, but after a call to Cox, I was reminded that the modem must be rebooted when first connected to the router. Problem quickly solved.
I use this router for only 2 devices; my first smartphone, acquired at the same time as the router, and my smart TV, also bought at the same time, which is also my first LCD TV. Finally, I'm up to date with all this fast-advancing technology! Both connect flawlessly to the Net. The TV is in another room, about 30 feet away in a direct line, but there are 2 walls the signal must pass through. No problems at all. I use it for Netflix, and all programming streams perfectly as if watching regular cable programs.
Satisfied with this purchase; after reading numerous other reviews of people's problems with routers, I guess I'm lucky, especially considering my tech knowledge of routers is so limited. Deducted an egg due the need to reboot occasionally, but would give 5 eggs if that issue went away.
