Flaky 09/03/2013
This review is from: D-Link Xtreme Gigabit Router (DIR-655) Wireless N300, USB SharePort, Gigabit
Pros:
Looks nice.
Lots of configuration options.
Cons:
LEDs are very bright. I keep this router in my bedroom, so this was not ideal. It was easily solved by putting tape over the LEDs, but it's still a con.
Internet connection was great for about 3 months then it started dropping. Usually a reboot of the router would fix it, then it slowly crept up to about 4 reboots and a power cycle of my cable modem (NOTE: it is NOT my cable modem that is flaky as direct connections to that work just fine). I've upgraded the firmware to the latest to no avail. After searching the Internet it sounds as though this is a common issue with no solution other than what I described above.
Overall Review:
I never could get the Channel Width 20/40MHz working correctly, so my wireless bandwidth was fixed at 150Mbps / 20MHz.
Bandwidth usage reporting akin to Tomato would also be a nice addition to the router.
