5 out of 5 eggs Seems to be working great! 10/29/2013

This review is from: BYTECC BT-1324 13" - 24" LCD Wall Mount, Max load 35lbs

Pros:

- Light weight
- All necessary hardware included
- Comes with a specific wrench to loosen/tighten the swivel and tilt "anchor" points
- Very easy installation

Cons:

None that I can think of really. It is quite tight when trying to adjust the swivel / tilt features, but easily solved with the included wrench.

Although not really necessary, but there are no installation instructions really. There are a couple pictures on the outside of the box, but I was hoping for some insight on whether it has to be mounted on a stud or not.

Other Thoughts:

I bought two of these mounts. One for a 20 inch TV and one for a 24 inch TV. I have only had a chance to mount the 20 inch with this mount and so far it seems to be working great. I was a little worried about its durability because it does not say whether you need to mount it to a wall stud or not. Using the provided wall anchors for the screws, I went ahead and mounted the TV between studs and it seems to be pretty sturdy, even with the weight of the TV. I can easily tilt and swivel without feeling like I am about to pull the mount out of the drywall, hahah.

My only other recommendation is to be careful when installing the wall anchors for the screws (if you use them). I was able to gently pound / tap them in the wall (after drilling the pilot holes) with a hammer, but two of them started to flatten / "smash in" the more I tried to tap them in. So, I put a screw in them and tapped on the screw to push the anchors further into the drywall. Then, I pulled the screws out and mounted the TV mount. Now we are channel surfing and saving dresser space in the bedroom!
