Pros:

Was fast when it worked.

Cons:

Bricked after 10 weeks; everything lost.

Overall Review:

Installed OK, and was fast, but drive bricked about 10 weeks into the build. Nothing *at all* to be done.

Worst still was that I was in final checkout of the system and hadn't integrated a backup strategy or disk image yet. I didn't lose a lot of critical data, but had to rebuild the entire machine. Three weeks later I am still installing software.

Called ADATA. Took 15 tries to get an answer. The guy was nice enough, and told me to cycle the power w/o the SATA cable connected, but, not surprisingly, this did nothing. So off the drive went at my expense. No option for recovery or mirroring services (I asked). Took 14 days after they received it to get it back to me, but I don't care, because I bought a Samsung OCX 840 Pro. I no longer trust ADATA drives, and I won't be using them in any of my machines moving forward.

Turns out the ADATA was also giving me BSODs. I didn't know it was the ADATA drive, until I replaced it with a different manufacturer and BSODs disappeared completely. No surprise in retrospect, given the eventual complete failure of the ADATA SSD. Unfortunately the elusive BSOD problem is what prevented me from certifying the machine, putting it into service, and implementing a backup/imaging strategy.

I tried to save $20-$30 on a no-name drive like ADATA, and I paid dearly for it. It cost me 10-15 hours to rebuild the system. I don't trust the new ADATA drive, and am going to simply use it as a system mirror, or maybe auction it online. Live and learn.
