- SATA III
Noticeably faster Windows and App startup times. Cloning software was very easy to use.
Possibly already having an issue with 1 of the 2 drives. About 3 weeks after installing 1 of the drives part of my Windows Registry became corrupted and the Windows System Restore didn't resolve the issue even though I successfully restored to an earlier time. Luckily I had the old drive still intact and reckoned it on to the SSD drive so I didn't have to do a complete reinstall. It could be coincidence. Time will tell.
I've seen plenty of claims of Windows starting up in 15 seconds. Those that make that claim probably have an I7 processor. No matter how fast the drive is, the processor is still involved in the startup process and thus has an impact on startup times. My computers have a 3.6Mhz Phenom Quad processor and it takes them about 40 seconds for Windows and for the startup apps to finish loading. But it used to take about 75 to 90 seconds with a 7200 SATA drive, so big improvement none the less.
