Disappointed and not worth the money 11/06/2013
This review is from: RAZER Mamba Wireless Rechargeable Gaming Mouse
Pros:
Looks very clean and nice. Fits my large hand okay. Ambidextrous (good for lefties). The sensor tracks pretty well (the dual sensor seems over the top though). L/R clicking feels pretty solid.
Cons:
The software SUCKS. Synapse 2.0 REQUIRES you to create an account and sign a privacy policy to get the drivers. The program also has a very annoying overlay when you change DPI. After removing the software, it removed the drivers, and installing the legacy drivers or using PnP did not bring back DPI functionality (which worked with PnP previously).
The buttons/wheel feel very cheap. The side buttons have a bit of lift and rattle. The scroll wheel rattles when in some positions and feels very loose and on par with a $10 generic mouse. Logitech buttons wear out fast but feel significantly better.
Receiver is bulky and no dongle alternative.
Overall Review:
Dealt with support a bit and got little help which was expected. Basically this is how it's going to be. If Razer decides to stop doing things their way and listen to the numerous complaints out on the web, I might revisit the idea of buying their products. For now I'm going to just find a cheap Logitech and replace it as the buttons wear out.
