Looks like everything I want it to do. I thought I'd like this because I don't want to pay for a cloud service. I'd rather just buy a device once and be done with it.
Failure. Total Failure.
I'm not sure how the web sees it 'offline' when I can access the dashboard in another window.
When it did work, it was SLOW. Everything was on wired gigabit - so no thats no excuse.
I've tried to contact support via the software. No luck there either.
I'm afraid to return a harddrive after it has had my personal data on it. Just seems risky. So Looks like I'm stuck with this expensive junk.
This is way too difficult and buggy to use for a consumer device. Seems like you need to be an IT pro to get it to work.
Dear User, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Your device has a 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connection. Actual transfer rates can vary based on your local area network topology, hard drive disk read/write speeds, system activity, and length of cable. To achieve maximum transfer rates, we recommend using Giga-bit network devices, because your transfer rates will only be as fast as your slowest network component. The My Cloud drive allows for individuals to choose what content is on their device, as well as who has access to it, with the ability to access information remotely.
Should you require any feedback or assistance with the remote features and accessibility, the following link may be of some help, or you can contact our support team directly.
How To Set Up and Configure:
We recommend ensuring that your device is up to date with the latest firmware, as this may easily resolve the problems you are experiencing. Information regarding the procedures of how to update the firmware for your device can be located at the following link
