Crashes system repeatedly 12/13/2013
Came with a game coupon to offset the price somewhat
Not as fast as the Radeon HD 4850 it replaced. Computer began crashing occassionally shorting after installing. Over the next 9 months, this increased, until last week it was crashing constantly. I thought it was a driver conflict/OS file corruption at first. Tried installing latest drivers, etc., and crashes still got more frequent. Tried rolling back drivers and OS, but it had crashed so many times the OS was messed up. Finally bit the bullet and reinstalled OS. System crashed while trying to install OS. Reformatted drive (quick) and still crashed while installing OS. Finally low level formatted the drive and STILL can't get OS to install because of crashes (PFN file corruption, Win 7 Professional 64). I swapped out the card to my old Radeon HD 4850 and the OS installed with no problem. System was stable for several hours (no other SW installed, minimal drivers installed), so I thought I would try the GTX 650 again. Guess what? SYSTEM CRASHED immediately!!
