fast but hot! 12/19/2013
coming from an i7 975 Extreme edition processor this thing is pretty darn quick at 4.2ghz
i had my i7 975 at 4.6 ghz at 1.4 volts and it was still slower than this guy is.
it simply chews through anything i throw at it.
i love the z87 features as well as the pci-e bandwidth. very nice.
it runs hot! super hot! with two 240mm radiators and an awesome waterblock...at 4.6ghz this guy was hitting 80-90 c ...not cool(literally). i would have to delid this badboy if i wanted to get better temps. i'm happy at the 4.2ghz setting i have it at now which has temps under load around 45c. just that .4ghz jump really makes some heat that the chip itself can't dissipate in time to the waterblock. intel should have welded the die to the heatsink instead of this gluing stuff. >.<
