Perfect Apartment setup 12/20/2013
Perfect set of speakers for apartment living. Subwoofer isn't anything amazing, but gets the job doone: which is nice for my downstairs neighbors.
Very easy setup. Not really any need for directions, just plug and play.
Keeping it at about 50% volume is more than enough to fill the space with sound. Anything above that is just for fun/good tool for annoying neighbors.
They give you PLENTY of speaker cord. I was easily able to run wires from my TV, under the carpet and up the back wall.
Side Note:I have this hooked up to my PC, with audio and video going through an HDMI cable out from a Radeon 6900. Setting up the surround sound using realtek audio took about 5 seconds (the time it took to change from stereo to 5.1 surround in the dropdown menu).
Have to hook composite cable to the TV to get some of the more advanced menu options. Took me longer to find an old composite cable than it did for the entire setup (Though this menu is not in any way necessary).
Not really a con, but would have been nice to have screws + anchors included for wall mounting, I had enough lying around, but I always like it when companies include that sort of thing. Though I understand that not everyone is mounting to drywall, but most everyone in an apartment/condo is (which is what I assume these are designed for).
