One stick good, one stick bad 12/21/2013
This review is from: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR
Pros:
one stick performed perfectly. gigabyte setting in bios was easy. There's an automatic presetting that autoset to 9-8-9-28 for me :)
Cons:
The other stick was bad. memtest86+ showed thousands of errors. I wasn't aware what bad memory could do. Now I know. Several months of OS crashing on me, random system freeze, and I thought it was the OS or something else entirely. Nope. it's the memory.
Overall Review:
Price was decent. Hopefully GSKILL RMA goes smoothly.
Manufacturer Response:
.
Dear Customer
Glad to hear the memory was easy to set up. AUTO default settings may work, but it is still best to manually configure settings in BIOS/EFI since the RAM specifications are above standard. If a module produces errors in memtest86+, send it in for RMA exchange and a replacement should work flawessly. The G.Skill RMA process is quick and hassle free, so your computer can be up to full speed in no time. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.
Thank you
