Loud and not as good as cheaper models 12/22/2013
It looks like it might be a good cooler for overclocking.
The fan is REALLY loud even at the lowest setting and is extremely loud on the highest setting. They defiantly fudged their noise readings. On the lowest setting its about 22dB and 30+ on high.
Mounting this thing an an AM3+ mobo sucks!!! Hands down the hardest to install I've run across in my decades of building systems. The thing is really big and it is extremely difficult to put on when your mobo inside of the case because its V shaped . I"m utterly socked I didn't shatter my GPU when installing it from pushing on on the heatsink. I would recommend taking your mobo out of your case when installing. It took me an hour without doing so and I've got a lot of experience with this style of clips so it would take your an hour and a half at least.
Its solid copper, so that should add a few degrees per watt cooling, but the fan is so loud I wouldn't want to be in the same room while using it for that purpose. I can hear it right now on the lowest setting... and its really loud. I regret buying it.
