Lots of software and WD help.
Great for Docs and pictures.
If you don't have a Gigabit Ethernet card it is DEADLY slow. I got around 8Mbps on a hardline, slower than my USB2 Canvio. As a gamer with limited space due to SSD's this drive doesn't cut it with it's speeds, taking over an hour to move a 25GB game.
We appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback related to your experience with the My Cloud NAS. As a standard practice when trying to achieve the best possible performance from networking equipment, it is advisable to utilize CAT 5e/6 Ethernet cabling along with Gigabit supported interfaces; be it your router, computer, or other connected devices like a NAS. When connecting devices supported with a slower physical data link, the performance you will achieve will only be as fast as your slowest connected device, such as 10/100 Ethernet or wireless connections. Connecting a USB 3.0 hard drive to a USB 2.0 card/port connection directly to a computer will also see these types of results, as the slowest connection in this scenario would be 2.0, and you would only see USB 2.0 capable speeds.
A USB connected device may still potentially provide faster speeds for data transfer, due to the fact that there is not an extra physical layer between your router and a NAS drive for the data to move across.
