Nice Replacement Bulb 01/04/2014
I purchased these on a supersaver deal 2 for $10 and installed them two days ago. So I cannot comment on longevity. I placed two in a track lighting fixture in our dining room and they are noticeably brighter than the old bulbs.
I have a fixture near my computer that I still had a incandescent bulb in and the change makes for a distinct lower heat output.
My wife prefers to leave a light on at the back of our place so she can see when she arrives, and I'm expecting these to reduce our overall power bill by a fair amount.
There is a brief time between throwing the switch and the bulb coming on. This is likely associated with the few cycles of power it takes to bring the internal power supply up to voltage. The lag is not significant, nor do I expect it to be a nuisance.
I live in the desert southwest, and the heat from an standard filament bulb can significantly increase the heat load in our place. I converted most of our bulbs to CFL two years back and have been unsatisfied with their longevity vs cost and am hoping these last longer
