- SATA III
Not reliable 01/07/2014
This review is from: OCZ Vector Series VTR1-25SAT3-256G 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC
Fast - worth the money if it was reliable. Made my two year old Dell much faster.
Not reliable. Purchased in May 2013 for my Dell desktop and it died in October 2013. BIOS could not see drive. OCZ replaced under warranty with a refurbished unit. That unit just failed in December 2013. Same symptom...BIOS could not see drive. Even with regular backups, loosing your hard drive is very distruptive and time consuming to deal with. I will not use the next replacement drive as a primary drive again. I may just use it as a paper weight.. I wish I could just get my money back. I have had a Samsung Pro SSD in my laptop for about the same amount of time. So far no problems, but my laptop only gets occasional use so hard to conclude it is any more reliable than the OCZ.
I am very sorry to read of your numerous issues with the Vector series. I understand the frustration and inconvenience a drive or system failure causes. Multiple failure situations are very unusual and most often in these situations something is contributing to the problems. If you have not yet sought a RMA/replacement for the 2nd problem drive I recommend you contact us and inquire about a current market value refund. These refunds, as outlined in the Limited Warranty terms, are issued at OCZ's option in extreme cases where a replacement may not be able to correct the issue you are experiencing.
If we can help in any way please use the link below to contact us. We can help with either setup of a replacement or RMA options if you have not yet pursued a 2nd RMA.
On behalf of OCZ, I apologize for the inconvenience!
