You have to love 6 tuners onc cable card 01/10/2014
Pro’s 6 tuners, 1 cable card, stand alone device, pure TV exstasy.
Bad reviews that are continually written for a fantastic device. User error, system incompatibility, I have no idea what the deal is, I’m sure there are some folks that actually do have some real problems, but the device works and you don’t need 20 years of IT experience to get it up and running, basic reading comprehension and the ability to follow directions is prerequisite. Oh, it does run super hot, 59C , room temp’s are 69C, I’m down to low 50’s/high 40’s as using a USB power 120MM fan blowing directly across the unit.
Upgrading from the Infinitv 4 PCI, setting up the ETH was breeze, unit shipped with latest stable firmware, but a new hardware version was released as I was writing this review, updated without issue via the Ceton diagnostic tool. Installed the latest Ceton Windows drivers, had it going in a matter of minutes, not counting the hour and a half I spent at the Comcast office getting a second cable card, argh. Paring/activation of the cable card with the ETH was painless after calling the Comcast number provided in the directions. I setup using assigned tuners, split between 3 PC’s, waiting for dynamic tuners to come out of Beta before giving that a go. ETH has been up and running now for a month without a problem, I’ve already decommissioned the Infinitv 4, listed it on fle@b@y.
Thanks for the nice review!
