Pros:

This is one of the most powerful GPUs ever produced. I can run games like World of Warcraft and a highly modded Skyrim on high resolutions with steady frames per second. I had the Sapphire 7990 in my original system; but, sent it back because it was causing excessive overheating. The next Sapphire 7990 I recieved was defective and hardware itself continually failed. I sent it back again and it was replaced with this card; which, I must say is much better than than the Sapphire card as it actually has an HDMI port on the back rather than a DVI port and four apple mini ports (seriously?). I installed a push pull cooling system in my large open case, which has a watercooled CPU. If you feel some strange urge to try out this card, this is one of the more stable versions of it.

Cons:

This thing runs at 105 degrees on idle, meaning you are just sitting there in windows reading a word document. When you slap on a video game in high rez, it will handle it, for awhile; but, the intense heat will cause the card to spuratically cut itself off, causing horrible frame stutters and may even freeze or crash the program. I've had this thing freeze my system just watching YouTube. It handles heat and frame pacing very badly. It is said that the frame pacing issue can be resolved with a driver update that won't be available till next summer; but, who is going to pay $1000 now for a card that is defective in it's current state? It stays roughly around 100 degrees Fahrenheit; but, it will get up to 140 degrees when running a game. This is when the fans kick in causing that loud distinctive whine that others are complaining about. This is why I installed extra internal fans to cool the GPU; but, if you have the time it would be better to water cool the GPUs cores. You would do better saving your money up to xfire to single GPUs together rather than running a single one of these flaky monsters.

Other Thoughts:

It was the most powerful GPU until the Titan was released; creating immediate competition for this card and smothering it to death due to Nvidia producing a vastly more stable card than ATI's 7990. Anyone running demanding games on this card needs to either use frame limiting or vsync or you will turn your system into a pile of molten metal and silicon. Don't even think of xfiring two of these together. It should be noted that the 6 Gigs of graphics ram is actually 3gigs. You have to divide the ram between the two GPUs this card is composed of and still a lot of that ram isn't even active, so it's more like 2gigs. It was clear that AMD bit off more than they could chew when they came up with this, in some desperate attempt to jump the gun on the next gen GPU; but, I believe Nvidia curb stomped them at their own game with their latest product. I tend to buy ATI just because they are cheaper; but, they are not built as solid as Nvidia cards. So, in the end, you are getting what you pay for, except in this case, you are getting a thousand dollar heater for your home, not a beastly GPU.
