Failed after 4.5 years; warranty is insufficient 01/17/2014
This review is from: PC Power & Cooling ModXStream Pro Series 700 Watt 80+ Semi-Modular Active PFC Performance Grade ATX PC Power Supply (OCZ700MXSP)
Pros:
- Modular design helpful
- Quiet
- It worked for 4.5 years but perhaps only because of a low-demand system
Cons:
It doesn't allow my latest generation system to boot up (AMD 8350 CPU). It has probably never performed as advertised, but I only know now that I've upgraded to a more demanding machine and it doesn't work. Maybe they will still let me RMA?
Warranty is 3 years. Rosewill offers a 7 year warranty on some of their products.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear R. Daly,
This particular unit should be able to power a AMD FX-8350 / Piledriver microarchitecture based system. Even if your warranty has expired we will still gladly troubleshoot and help determine if the PSU is the cause of your new system not powering on. Please contact our Support using the link below and provide as much information as possible to help guide our advice and recommendations.
Also, for your reference, OCZ has also sold units with 3-year, 5-year, and 7-year warranty. Those options can be explored using the link below.
Thank you for sharing your feedback!
Kind Regards,
