Awesome Card/Newegg very shady practices when I try to buy a 2nd card. 01/20/2014
Best card you can buy... not much else to say!
Price. Not being able to keep it in stock.
BEWARE! I tried to order another of these cards after Newegg's auto-notify sent me a message saying it was back in stock. So I go and order one immediately. Everything was fine, payment charged fine. Invoiced and all. Just like normal. Then a couple days later I get a message from Newegg saying the item is out of stock again and I will not be getting mine as ordered! They will issue me a refund in 3 to 5 business days.
Now for Newegg's shady practice. This video card supposedly comes with a free full version of Assassin's Creed 4 when you purchase this video card. HOWEVER when you look at the invoice as well as your credit card statement you will see TWO charges for this ONE item. What Newegg does is charge you $946.14 (includes shipping) for the video card and 59.99 for the Assassin's creed 4 (a game I have ZERO interest in). I went to Newegg to buy a video card... Not some game I'll never play. If I wanted Assassin's Creed anything, I would buy it myself.
So what does Newegg do? They Issue a partial refund on the video card but charge you $59.99 for the game. A game I wouldn't play if you gave it to me. I was buying a video card...HOW did I end up with a game I have no interest in and having to pay for that game?
Simple... Newegg does what it has done to me.
I went to Newegg to get a video card and ended up being lied to and sent a game I never ordered and being charged for said non-wanted game.
Basically Newegg sent me a message saying the video card you want is in stock now and comes with a free game. Showed as in-stock 5 seconds before I hit the purchase button during checkout. So I order the card, Newegg creates the invoice, CHARGES my credit card ... apparently before checking their stock levels. I mean if you are out of stock in the system how does the system even left you order an out of stock item? How do you justify charging my credit card if the item is out of stock? Then you void my order, tell me you are going to refund my money which I haven't seen yet and you only refund the amount for the video card and charge me $59.99 for a game I never wanted and you SHIPPED the game already.
The Better Business Bureau WILL be getting a copy of this issue rest assured!
Newegg advertises A Single item, a video card, for $999.99 but when you order one they create TWO invoices. one for the item you want... the video card. The second invoice is for some game you could care less about and they charge you $59.99 for a game that's advertised as free with this card. So by Newegg's own practices I should be able to buy this video card ONLY for $946.14. The game obviously isn't free cause I have been charged for a copy of it at $59.99!!
Lastly it will be very interesting what Newegg sends me for my $59.99. I have already purchased one of these video cards and the "free" game is a simple paper card with a serial number on it. You use the number to download the game.
Shame on you Newegg... I have lost a lot of t
